Birthday cards and more!

So many birthday cards to make this month: Tiffany, Justin, my mom, mui mui. Well mui mui won't notice if her card is store bought.

Plus a congrats card for my cousin Erin who is getting her white coat from pa school this weekend

Sometimes when I think I'd rather sew, I start making cards bc some occasion is coming up, and I find myself obsessed again with card making. Control yourself, woman!

I have also learned to finish chores before starting hobbies. Helps preserve the marriage :)

Justice Market: thank you packs!

Goal is to make 60 cards, 12 packs of 5 to sell at the justice market sponsored by "not for sale". I have 16 more to go with at least 16 hours logged already. Proceeds are going to search and Vox, so all worth it! They'd better all get sold...

UPDATE: the justice market was this weekend (dec 10th) and all but one pack was sold!! Whoohoo! It was worth it :)

Oven mitt in progress...

First time quilting...or maybe I made it up bc all I did was sew straight lines parallel to one another...is that quilting? I got the puffy effect that I enjoy from quilting so...

Lesson learned: don't sew something round that you need to stitch if it doesn't fit around your sewing machine arm....it was like trying to put on a very tight pair of pants. But even when I got it on the arm, the sewing maching foot couldn't move the fabric forward, so FAIL

Now that I'm working, sewing will be a weekend luxury. Just grateful to be able to do both!!

Monogrammed onesies

Oh man these took so much longer than I thought they would. Used steam a seam to adhere the letter to the onesie and stitched around it using the zig zag. These are for some babies that I know :)

Whoa Totes!

Ok I am obsessed with making tote bags after successfully making one (polka dot). Then I did the second one for Jeannie, who has a different kind of taste. Hopefully they will like their bags!!
They are reversible. Jeannie's has fusible interfacing...fancy word for iron on material that will make your fabric sturdier. Sorry Grace! I made yours before I discovered fusible interfacing. Credits go to my husband Justin for telling me to add the fusible interfacing (not in those words, more like "shouldn't you find a way to make it sturdier?") Oh well. Grace yours is just as functional!

My favorite part is the ruffled pocket. I will buy something just because it has ruffles on it. And now you're telling me I know how to make my OWN ruffles??? This is going to be dangerous. It is also called "gathering" from my extensive YouTube research, FYI...

Rosemary bread

This one woman's blog creative place is the sole source of my ideas lately. This turned out to be very tasty! Check out her blog: http://thecreativeplace.blogspot.com/

Excited bc I have never made bread before except banana bread, which is different bc there is no yeast involved

Drawstring backpack

Oh my I must be obsessed with sewing. Just finished this. I don't like making strings. Especially long ones bc you have to turn them inside out.

Fabric coasters

I tried this tutorial out from the creative place blog (same place for potholders)

Still figuring out how to control the speed on my new machine.
