Diaper Clutch for Number 2

Due November 4th with our 2nd girl! We have most everything we need from last time. But the diaper pouch I sewed for Rachel 3 years ago turned out to be too small to fit her diapers and wipes as she grew in diaper size.

I bought a new diaper bag on clearance from pottery barn: so excited because the Skip Hop bag was also too small to practically fit what I needed when heading out of the house with Rachel.

Thanks to Pinterest, I borrowed ideas from 2 posts to create this clutch in 3 hours one evening while Rachel was sleeping and justin was at a work function.

Due to my previous fabric addiction, I already had these remnants on hand. (Navy blue and mommy grey were just a few bucks from hobby lobby; the red linen I purchased years ago to make a wrist let, which never happened)

Double Sided Minky Blanket!

Rachel is going to daycare in a few months and I have to send her with her blankie for Naptime...

It was traumatic to see the cot she will be sleeping in-starkly contrasts the comfy crib she has slept in for the past 18 months (the first 3 weeks were in our room, but she was evicted after that)

Remember SIDS? Well this girl doesn't even know what a blanket is, since our doctors scared us out of putting anything inside the crib whatsoever. Not even a stuffed animal! (Well, Hello Kitty has since creeped her way into the mix)

I took her to Jo-Ann's to experiment with some fabrics. She is so attached to her lovie, that I wanted to make a blanket with similar color and feel. After test driving a few, she picked the minky pink.

Hoping to throw this blanket into the crib during Naptime so it will start smelling more like her and her lovie-

Rolled up for portability

The straps are sewn in for easy access

It's bigger than her - some blankets are so small that she might get cold--this one will be sure to cover all of her

Anything for our dear little Rachel. My baby is off to school!!

This evening, she test drove the blanket. Moment of truth: she laid here still as can be for 5 minutes, enjoying the "sofff" blanket.

Boutique Hairbow!

Have you ever looked at a daunting project, reading the instructions over and over, but never trying for fear of failure?

Well that is what this bow was for me. It is my most favorite type of bow for Rachel's hair, and other cute things.

I used some ribbon from a birthday gift (The Kitas), and turned it into a bow. Wait, they have two girls. I may need to make a second one!

Front side

Backside with clip

The most beautiful picture of me donning the bow. I would have put it on rachel, but a) she was napping and b)she doesn't have enough hair STILL!

Little bit of packaging (idea from Kathy, who gave us some homemade clips)

1 Year Old birthday cards

I never knew how big of a deal a kids first birthday is, but it's definitely an accomplishment for first time parents!

Grayson and Kaylee are both turning one this month. Here are their cards

Grayson

Kaylee's: supposed to be balloons, but evolved into lollipops :)
